"Their effects are pretty good, on a fairly limited budget. And that's about all you can say for "Skyline." is what the LA Times says of the film, also saying that "It's like a trip to a Kmart staffed by the ugliest beings imaginable."
The New York Daily News also claims that the film is boring, stating that It's finally here: The most boring alien-invasion movie ever. Despite borrowing liberally from previous hits like "Independence Day," "War of the Worlds" and "District 9," the not-screened for-critics "Skyline" takes the crown from 2003's "Dreamcatcher" in a stunning display of laziness, dull special effects and deadly pacing. It even makes sure each and every character is unsympathetic and dull for good measure."
Perhaps they went wrong when they decided not to make it rated R?
That's enough for me to want to wait and see "Skyline" when it comes to late night cable and even then, after I have already watched everything else. There's nothing more disappointing than a boring alien film.
